Can't access www.mywifiext.net

Customer Question

I can't access www.mywifiext.net. Can anyone help?

Welcome to JustAnswer.

I would recommend that you start over, on the back of the device there is a little RESET pin hole use a small PIN and hold it down for about 30 seconds then it will reset the device to default.

Now once it is on default use a separate computer and CONNECT wirelessly to the NETGEAR_EXT then once it is connected then open a new web-browser window and type http://www.mywifiext.net or http://www.mywifiext.com and try again then finish the install.

Thanks

How do i find NETGEAR_EXT on a separate computer ??
Expert:  TechGrant replied 2 years ago.
Just SCAN for the wireless NETWORKS then you should see NETGEAR_EXT that is the default name for the extender.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

This file name is ***** ***** my laptop where i have installed my extender software, the other computer is where my rooter is connected. I got confused when you said I should use a separate computer.

Expert:  TechGrant replied 2 years ago.
Sorry for the confusing. Normally when I set these up I get a laptop or another computer then turn on the range extender it will automatically broadcast the NETGEAR_EXT then I will conntect to it then goto the www.mywifiext.net then set it up from there and bypass the CD all together. That make sense?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi I'm back, still not working I did everything you said I Should do, can't excess both sites .net & .com
Expert:  TechGrant replied 2 years ago.

Interesting, now you connected to the wireless name of Netgear_EXT on your lap[top right then opened up the browser and tried http://www.mywifiext.net or .com?

Got to make sure you connect to the default Wireless SSID name of NETGEAR_EXT that is the only way the link works.

Could you give me your Model number of the extender? Thanks

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
MODEL WN2000RPTv2
Expert:  TechGrant replied 2 years ago.

Ok, lets try accessing the IP of the device then. Connect to the netgear_EXT or directly to the unit then open the web-browser window then type http://192.168.1.250 in the address bar and hit enter.

If ti ask for a username and password ***** admin for the username and password ***** the password.

That should get you in, let me know if not. thanks
