Hi,

What's the exact model of the realtek wireless LAN USB 802.11n adapter? Is this a new adapter?

Are you connecting it to a laptop or desktop?

Is there any error message when installing the realtek wireless adapter driver/software?

Thank you.

Is there any error message when installing it?

Does it show any wireless network name?

Can you install/connect this adapter on another computer and check?

Thanks.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Yes there was an error message, I tried to copy it so you could see what it said.
I will again uninstall and reinstall and see if I can get the message

You can take a screenshot of the error message:

Then upload the picture file at the website:

, then send me the file ID / link.

Thanks.

I am sorry the message locked up and would not respond so I dumped it.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled, got the message that the driver installation was successful, but still cant get the wifi up.
When I initially installed last night, I had a request for a password, and was not aware of what it was, so didnt proceed. The device displayed a small blue flashing light, showing it was active. However today I have discovered the password, but cant get any signal.
All equipment is brand new, the system is win 7 64x and a desktop

Can you insert the wireless adapter to a different USB port on the desktop, then wait a couple of minutes, click on the wireless/network icon at the bottom right of the screen, then check if it sees any wireless network name? Thanks.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
Sorry to take so long Viet I stuffed up and pushed the wrong button.
No it is not showing my wireless anywhere on the network
Expert:  Viet - Network Tech replied 4 years ago.
When click on the wireless/network icon at the bottom right of the computer screen, does it see your neighbor's wireless? Thanks.
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
No I am in a rural area, and there are no nearby networks

What's the brand and model of your wireless router? Do you have the wireless broadcast option enabled on the router?

So it says no wireless network available, etc.?

Can you click on Start, then right-click on Computer, then click on Manage, then click on Device manager, then open/expand Network adapters and tell me the item(s) under it?
Is there any problem/yellow item in Device Manager?

Thank you.

I do not have a wireless router. I simply wanted a wi-fi connection so that I could access books for my Kindle reader
So I bought this desktop unit as it said that it had wifi. I simply received the driver disk and the usb wifi dongle
Expert:  Viet - Network Tech replied 4 years ago.
That is the problem. You need a wireless router/hotspot device in order to get Wi-Fi/wireless connection.
The realtek wireless device is for using on a desktop computer in order to connect to a wireless router/hotspot device via wireless.

You can check with your Internet service provider for the wireless router/hotspot device, but there is another way: you can download kindle ebooks on the computer at the website http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-eBooks/b?ie=UTF8&node=1286228011
then transfer over to the kindle via the USB cable; you can click on the website below for full video/instructions:

Thank you.
