There is still a space between the / and the all.

You have to type it just like this: ipconfig[spacehereONLY]/all (there is only one space in the whole command). Thanks!

OK in that case we would need to reset the router in order to change the password. This is usually a pretty simple process with Comcast. The instructions are below; you may want to save or print them out as you will disconnected from the Internet for several minutes. Please let me know if you get stuck.

  1. Reset your router by pressing and holding the RESET button (small button on the back) on the back of the unit down for 15 seconds. Upon release, the unit will reboot.
  2. See if you can still get on the Internet. If you can then please skip to step
  3. If you can't get on the Internet, please unplug the power to both your Internet modem and your router. Leave both devices off for 10 minutes to allow the Comcast modem to reset.
  4. Plug your Internet modem back in and wait for it to sync (usually about 60 seconds).
  5. Plug your router back in and wait for it to sync (usually about 30 seconds).
  6. Open up your Internet browser and go to http://192.168.1.1/.
  7. When prompted, leave the username blank and type admin for the password.
  8. Once logged in, click on the Administration tab.
  9. Type the password XXXXX want to use in the Router Password and Re-enter to confirm blanks.
  10. Click Save Settings.

Hm if the router reset that should be it's address. Let's try http://10.0.0.1 instead. Any better?

The link brings me to the Xfinity login page. I left the username blank and typed in admin for the password. I receive a message: Incorrect Login

OK do you actually have your computer hooked up to the BESFX41 right now, or is it plugged directly into the Comcast router? Usually Comcast provides a Netgear router with their Xfinitry service. Let me know!
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
It is plugged into the comcast router.
Expert:  Erik B. replied 4 years ago.
OK and you want to change the password XXXXX that router, or the BEFSX41? Or do you want to change the password XXXXX the wireless network that the Xfinity router is providing?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
I want to change the password XXXXX the wireless network
Expert:  Erik B. replied 4 years ago.

Ah OK I apologize for my misunderstanding. Here are the instructions to change the wireless password XXXXX the Netgear router provided by Comcast:

  • 1. CLICK HERE to visit the login page for the Netgear.
  • 2. When prompted, type admin for the username and password for the password. If using password XXXXX the password XXXXX't work, please try 1234 as the password. If that doesn't work either look at the label on the bottom of the Comcast router for the correct password.
  • 3. When the configuration page for the router appears, click on Wireless Settings on the left.
  • 4. In the middle pane, your wireless security method will be listed and underneath that your wireless key will be listed. You may change this key (password) to whatever you want. Once you make the change, click the Apply button.
  • 5. The wireless network will briefly reboot and then you should be able to join the network using the new password.
