I have a Edimax BR-6228nS wireless router. Where is this 8-digit

Resolved Question:

I have a Edimax BR-6228nS wireless router. Where is this 8-digit PIN that I need for setup? On the base-label there is user name/password, then admin/1234, but no 8-digit number. Could you help please?

Is the router working?

Are you looking for the wireless password/security key?

Do you have a wireless computer/laptop that is currently connected via wireless? If so, does it have windows xp, vista, or 7?

Please let me know. Thank you.

Yes the router is working. Both my pc and laptop can access the internet, but I cant do the basic setup on the pc. Both computers are using windows7. I connected the wireless router to my pc, but the pc could not recognise that the cables were connected and kept prompting me to make the final connection as per the displayed setup diagram.

Both the PC and laptop are working with the Internet, so what are you trying to set up on the PC? Thanks.

I guess I'm looking for the password/security key. When I found the wireless signal on the laptop, it said that it had not been setup and asked for an 8-digit PIN, which I cannot find on the router or in the paperwork that came with it.

Please go to the website and log in with the username: admin and password: 1234
, then go to the General Setup, Wireless option (or could be at another place there) in order to get the pin or wireless password/security key.

Please let me know if there is still any issue. Thank you.
