I am trying to install router on my computer. My modem doesn't have a place to plug in blue cable. I'm using telephone cable from the router into the computer. It tells me that my computer doesn't have wireless capability. What now?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows Vista Browser: Other Already Tried: Tried hooking up router. My modem doesn't have a place to plug blue cord. Using a phone line from the router to my computer. Comes up saying the computer doesn't have wireless capability. What now?
Hi,You need to connect the modem to the router, and then the router to the computer (the modem connects ONLY to the router). To get wireless on your computer, you need to get a USB wireless adapter - you can get one at any local computer store.Thanks,J.

So I take the connection out of my modem put the routerplug in there and put the other end into the computer?
That's correct - and then you need another network cable to connect the router (any one of the 4 LAN ports) to the computer. So:Modem to router's Internet port.Computer to router's LAN port (1,2,3 or 4).J.
