my wireless internet doesn't work in the other rooms, only in the room that has the modem.please assist me

Ok. Unless your home's walls are made out of lead, this shouldn't happen, and indicates your modem is defective. I would have Rogers replace it.

Your other option is to get a wireless router, which should cover your entire home. A good choice is the new Cisco Linksys E 2000 or E 3000 - they are great routers at a low price, with a great range.

Is the Linksys router connected to the modem?

Let's try to update the router's firmware, if it's not updated yet: Please go to
http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT160N
, then select hardware version 3.0, and you'll can see the instructions and firmware to download and update.

If needed, please reset the router: with the power connected to the router, please use a paper clip to press & hold the tiny reset hole/button located on the back/bottom of the router for 10 seconds. Then wait a few minutes, check wireless range.

Please also use another laptop or wireless device to test and confirm if the router's wireless signal hardware is not working well (if it was working with further range previously).
