No, when I follow that procedure it wants to uninstall the whole program. I only want the firewall disabled
OK... I uninstalled McAfee and restarted the computer. I then installed Avast. Now I am getting an error when I try to start windows firewall:
"Windows could not start the Security Center service on Local Computer. Error 1079: the account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process."
Thanks I'll give it a go and let you know what happens
It didn't work.... anything else?
i'll try that now
I have managed to get the xbox on my network but still having problems with firewalls...

Then click on the Log On tab:
Note: A message may be displayed: "The account NT AUTHORITY\LocalService has been granted the Log On As A Service right. ", confirm that.
Then click on the General tab, then at Startup type:, set to Automatic, then click on Start on the window. Then click on OK. Then check Firewall.
