Customer:

off the sys your prepping to run it on

Customer:

and then when your ready lemme know

Customer:

Customer:

Customer:

do you see an area that specifically mentions a driver

Customer:

for the usb dongle

Customer:

?

Customer:

if so then right click it and select properties

Customer:

if not then i will work around it

Customer :

still un-installing

Customer:

aah no problem

Customer:

lemme know when ready

Customer:

im actually going to have copy all contents of the disk into a folder on your desktop named belkin ok

Customer :

????

Customer:

yeah i know sounds strnage

Customer:

strange but but it works

Customer:

so do this :

Customer :

laptop is now rebooting

Customer:

double click my computer form your desktop

Customer :

you mean the driver CD?

Customer:

yes

Customer :

will need to wait till lappy reboots

Customer:

no worries...follow the items as i ask you to perform them each time when it finishes booting

Customer:

and we will get that sucker working in windows 7

Customer :

Customer:

alrighy then

Customer :

go into the cd.....

Customer:

all the ones that say the word hidse

Customer:

and make sure that the one that doesnt is checked for show hidden,....

Customer :

Customer:

ctrl + v= copy

=copy

Customer :

lol

Customer :

Customer:

nice

Customer:

then navigate to desktop and create a new folder named belkin

Customer:

paste those files into it

Customer:

and then we modify the properties for the installer

Customer:

for compatibility mode

Customer :

its copying them now

Customer:

sweet

Customer :

I had to drag & drop as copy & pasting didnt work!

Customer:

weird

Customer:

but no matter

Customer :

from the cd

Customer :

done

Customer:

you got them though

Customer:

ok

Customer:

so can ypu tell me please what you see for file names

Customer:

or screen shot it ad upload here

Customer :

many ini files...

Customer :

2 folders

Customer :

Customer:

you should probably take a screenshot

Customer:

Customer:

then open paint inside accessories

Customer :

they are the only exe files

Customer:

you should probably take a screenshot

10:55 AM

Customer:

and press ctrl+v in paint

Customer:

then save the file file and upload it by using the little dashboard on this chat window

Customer:

as an attachment

Customer:

its the paperclip

Customer:

this will help me discern the next step for this

Customer:

as each app has specifics im not visually able to see currently

Customer:

it would look like this:

Customer :

Customer:

5.select browse

Customer:

6.navigate to the area where you saved the .png file

Customer:

7.it will place the URL in the content windows and then select upload

Customer:

Customer :

I do that, then the image appears on the screen but removes the typing box so I cant message you!!

Customer :

Customer:

Customer :

there we go!

Customer:

now i see it

Customer:

gimme just a sec to review

Customer:

ok the files we want to modify are:

Customer:

setup.exe

Customer:

btw.msi

Customer:

data1.cab

Customer:

btwusb.ini

Customer:

btwusb.cat

Customer:

ok i think those files are sufficient to accomplish our goal

Customer:

select the first in the list setup.exe

Customer:

right click and select properties

Customer:

select the compatibility tab

Customer:

select the "change settings for all users" button near bottom

Customer:

check the radio box for "run this program...."

Customer:

check the radio box under priveledge level

Customer:

select ok

Customer:

select ok again

Customer:

repeat the process for each of the files i listed above:

setup.exe

11:12 AM

btw.msi

11:12 AM

data1.cab

11:12 AM

btwusb.ini

11:13 AM

btwusb.cat

Customer:

if there is no compatibility tab on those files its no biggie just means we dont have to modify

Customer:

when finished let me know and we will continue

Customer :

I done all but the .ini file which I canrt find

Customer :

did you mean btwusb.inf ?

Customer:

yes

Customer :

ok

Customer:

ok so then select the setup.exe and run

Customer :

ok - the only file to have all those options available was the setup.exe file

Customer:

no problem just covering the bases

Customer:

go ahead and run the setup.exe

Customer :

installing now

Customer:

very good

Customer:

this should allow you to use the dongle when completed

Customer :

We need to get the laptop paired with the music receiver

Customer:

yes

Customer:

i will need your eyes to accomplish tat goal

Customer :

Its a good job I'm not blind :)

Customer:

LMAO

Customer:

Customer:

Customer:

Customer :

Customer:

by way of word document or rich tect format

Customer:

Customer:

will you be using your iphone to remotely manage?

Customer :

I only have the physical manual

Customer:

Customer:

Customer:

Customer:

so what device are you pairing it to?

Customer:

Customer:

or just the laptop?

Customer:

both?

Customer :

My iPhone works fine with it....

Customer:

good

Customer:

ok then just the top

Customer :

its just the lappy I've got the problem with

Customer:

very good

Customer:

lets try and sync

Customer:

go through the process as you would normally

Customer:

the difference is really the stuff we already did

Customer:

because it should be running all in compt mode now as a windows xp sp3 version

Customer :

When I click on the bluetooth icon it brings up a window with an icon for the music receiver

Customer:

on the laptop correct

Customer :

it should

Customer:

should ?

Customer :

there is a warning triangle next to the icon

Customer:

stating?

Customer:

compatibility issue?

Customer :

when I double click it to bring up the properties.....

Customer :

it says the drivers for this device are not installed

Customer :

code 28

Customer:

ok that can be rectified

Customer:

open up the device manager

Customer:

from the control panel

Customer :

k

Customer:

and nav to the area where it shows an issue

Customer :

yup

Customer:

select it and open

Customer:

what does it say

Customer :

yup

Customer :

drivers not installed

Customer :

shall I update the driver?

Customer:

yes and sue ther driver form our belkin folder

Customer :

???

Customer:

use the driver from the belkin folder on the desktop

Customer:

we created earlier

Customer:

you may need to browse to find it

Customer:

might be in the btwusb.cat

Customer :

It says it cant find driver software even though I point it at the right folders

Customer:

not sure i understand you...

Customer:

you may have to burrow

Customer:

to the literal file name

Customer :

"Windows was unable to install your Bluetooth Peripheral device...................."

Customer:

can you give me a cpl of minutes to review this on the net

Customer :

You can only point windows to the folder the file is in

Customer:

brb

Customer:

i know

Customer:

brb swear

Customer:

did you have the dongle unplugged when we ran the software install earlier

Customer:

?

Customer :

tes until it asked me to plug it in

Customer :

yes

Customer:

ok what model is the dongle please

Customer:

and did it come with the device

Customer :

F8T008

Customer:

was it purchased seperate from the receiver

Customer:

Customer :

yes - several yrs ago

Customer:

good thank you for that

Customer:

just a tick

Customer :

brb

Customer:

  1. If you have installed the device properly, a Bluetooth® Technology icon will have appeared on your desktop.

  2. Double click on the icon “My Bluetooth places”

  3. Make sure your phone has Bluetooth® Technology capability and the Bluetooth® Technology function on your phone is enabled and detectable.

  4. Click on “View Devices in range” in the menu on the left.

  5. Once you can see your phone in the list, right click on the icon of the Phone. A menu will appear. Choose “Pair device”.

  6. Enter ‘0000’ and press OK. In some rare cases you have to enter ‘1234’.

  7. Your phone will then ask you to accept the connection, please enter the same pin code in the phone.

  8. Once you have entered the pin code on the phone and you accept, the icon of the phone will appear with a red tick

Customer:

ignoring the phone section same rules apply here

Customer :

is that from the website?

Customer :

we are connecting a laptop to the reciver, not a phone

Customer:

i know

Customer:

its still the same process

Customer:

just no phone in theory

Customer:

to pair devices via blutooth

Customer :

well I have the icon in the start tray only

Customer:

bluetooth works like this:

Customer :

when I click on it several option appear

Customer :

add a device

Customer :

show devices

Customer:

add a device

Customer :

send & receive

Customer:

yes

Customer :

join personal network

Customer :

open settings

Customer:

these are the things necessary to set it

Customer:

that is good

Customer:

your bluetooth channel is compliant to add the receiver inthis fashion

Customer :

when I double click the reciver icon comes up but with the warning triangle nxt to it to show something is wrong

Customer:

??

Customer:

do tell

Customer:

its says the drivers arent installed ?

Customer :

yup

Customer:

darn it

Customer:

ok well that simly not ture

Customer:

true we added them

Customer:

so the windows 7 system is literally denying the process period

Customer:

soundsv as if the compatibilty mode was not enough

Customer:

and the hardcoding of the device wont work with it

Customer:

meaning your dongle \

Customer:

is more than likely the culprit and simply6 will not work

Customer:

i am sorry i was hoping to see that workaround work

Customer:

can you give me an hour so that I can check some forum groups for you

Customer :

ok, so I'll prob need to get a newer dongle then?

Customer:

and I will try and see what otherrs have done as a workaround

Customer:

yes I think that it is simply not going to work for your needs here

Customer :

ok - we tried!!

Customer:

we sure did

Customer :

thanks for your efforts though

Customer:

your welcome and I will continue to check on this issue and report back what i find

Customer:

like an hour or so

Customer:

at least you know for sure the reason

Customer :

sure - ok, till then :)

Customer:

that it was failing you

Customer:

thanks so much...and if you are ok with it hit the green accept button so i can get paid for my time i will still be in contact with you afterwards

Customer :

sure thing - speak later

Customer:

ill reply to this thread when i get some solid answers

Customer:

thank you

Ok after reading the specs on your bluetooth setup and looking at refences on some of my forum groups it appears that that module FT8008 usb adapter is most definitely not Windows 7 friendly....heres my suggestion...

You can try using a different model of a belkin products driver files(not the entire sofware but rather just the driver files from a Windows 7 capabale product that is similar and newer. That may allow you to use the hardware you have still. If not here is the F8T008 drivers files you can use to restore a UK version of the product :

http://www.belkin.com/support/download/download.asp?download=F8T008&lang=1&mode=

Hope this helps and if you need some guidance on that process let me know....
