Greetings,Please, let me know when you are ready to begin.I will be standing by.
I am ready. I connected the Q-See to the Linksys Router (model BEFSR41) which is connected to the modem(Motorola SBV522). I opened the page NETWORK and thats it. Paul
Do you know which "ports" the Q-See device are using?
Also, do you know the IP Address of the Q-see device?
http port: 80
server port 6036
IP Address: 192.168.001.200
WHile you are on the same network, can you access the cameras with that information?
no I cannot
I dont know how to even check it
Lets set up the router first.
On a computer that is connected to the router, perform the steps below:- Click the following link ---> http://192.168.1.1Leave the username blankThe default password XXXXX admin- Click the Applications & Gaming link
Please, let me know when you are there.
Add the two port rules that are found on that image I just posted above, please.
Once that is complete, please click the Save Settings button.
Please, let me know when that is complete.
Now click on the Status link on the top right of that page.
Do you see the WAN/Internet IP address?
Now, you should be able to go to that Internet IP address in your browser and be able to login to your cameras
i see this :
Do you want me to check if it is working?
Ok, it is not working from here.
Are your cameras on
it is not working here also
Click the following link: http://192.168.1.200
Does that link work for you?
I connected just one camera & its on =- I can see on the Q-See sys
No it does not
Where did you get the 192.168.1.200 ip address information from?
I got it from the Q-See sys at the NETWORK page
Does the Q-see program indicate that it is connected?
how can I check it?
Linksys router's diode is lit for Q-See sys
- Click Start Button - Type: CMD- Hit Enter- In the black window, type the following and press Enter: ipconfig- Press Enter- What is shown for the IP Address, Subnet Mask & Default Gateway?- In the black window, type the following and press Enter: ping 192.168.1.200- What does it say, replies or request timed outs?
Click the following link: http://192.168.1.200:6036
Did that bring it up?
its loading and loading...
and it shows nothing
That means that it is not setup correctly.
I am not sure what is not correct.
IP after ipconfig shows: 192.168.1.100, Subnet: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.1.1
- Click Start Button - Type: CMD- Hit Enter- In the black window, type the following and press Enter: telnet 192.168.1.200 80
is not recognized
as a comand
Please, look at the QSee configuration and verify that you are using the ports 80 and 6036
it shows it
"What" shows it?
80 and 6036
I am asking what you are looking at that tells you that.
Network page: Http port: 80, Server port: 6036
But when you click this link, it does not work? http://192.168.1.200:6036
not, its just loading forever
I will give you everything what I have on page NETWORK, please wait a min
http port: 80, Server port: 6036, Obtain an IP address automatically: blank, IP Address: 192.168.001.200, Subnet: 255.255.255.0., Gateway: 192.168.001.001, DNS Server: 000.000.000.000, Alternate: 000.000.000.000., PPPoE: blank, User name: blank, Password: blank, test
Is the PPPoE option chosen or is dynamic chosen?
PPPoE is not marked and there is nothing like dynamic, I mean on the Q-See, not on the computer I am chating with you
This is strange.
Just to double check, the following link does not work? http://192.168.1.200
no, it does not
On the Qsee configuration, are you positive that you enabled the system correctly?
I just sent you the config it shows, tell me what to do and I will follow
do you want me to choose the default and apply and exit?
The information you gave me shows all correct.
Do you have it set to enable remote viewing?
where can I see that?
Please, go to the following site: http://canyouseeme.org/
Put port number 80 in the "What port" field and click the CHECK button below that.
it says: Error: I could not see your service on 188.8.131.52 on port (80)Reason: Connection timed out
Is this a new system?
its 6 mts old so its new
As of right now, it does not even work on the same network.
Have you ever gotten it to work?
There is nothing else that could possibly not make it work. You can ping by IP but cannot access the Web server on the same network.
Would getting a refund for this device be an option?
It doesn't appear to be functioning correctly.
well I thought you are an expert...
I cannot repair things that are hardware faulted from a far.
and you cannot figure out how to configure it???
I am telling you that it is already configured correctly.
so why it does not work?
You cannot access it on the same network, which means either it is non-functional or you are not giving me the correct information.
I AM GIVING YOU CORRECT INFO !
I have set up scores of camera systems. If it does not work on the same network; as yours is, then that is a problem with the actual device and cannot be 'fixed' because it is a hardware issue.
I know that you are giving me the correct information, that is why I am suggesting that the device itself is hardware faulted.
You may click the Accept button now and leave any feedback for me that you feel is appropriate. Thank you, - Jason
Is there anything else I can help with today?
I have run out of ideas. For this reason, I am opting out of the question and allowing another expert the chance to help.I wish you luck // Peace.
