What is the brand and model of your DSL modem?
Siemens speedstream 4100
Ok, one moment please.

Please, let me know when you have that page up.
It wouldn't accept my password
You may have to reset the modem.
Once you login to the modem successfully, you will change the "PPP Mode" to Bridged Mode or to "PPP is on the Computer".Once you do that, you will lose the Internet when plugged directly into the modem. Now you must plug the modem into the WAN/Internet Port on the router, plug your computer into one of the four LAN ports on the router and configure the router normally to use PPPoE and enter your DSL username and password.
Have you already input your dsl username and password XXXXX the router earlier?
If you do not want to reset the modem, you can just reset the router and plug the Modem into the Wan port on the router, then a computer into one of the LAN ports on the router and you will be online.
What do you wish to do?
yes, I did input dsl username and password XXXXX the router. reset the router
Are you telling me that you just reset the router by pressing the reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds with a paper clip?
I will do that now
Ok thank you
Please, plug the Modem into the Wan port on the router, then another computer into one of the LAN ports on the router and you will be online on that computer.
Please, do that while I stand by.
Please, come back and update me once that is complete.
I'm not sure what you mean?
Sorry, what part do you not understand?
What is the Wan port and do you want me to use another computer?
The wan port is the Internet plug on the router (it is the one all by itself)
The LAN ports are 4 plugs grouped together.
Its already set up like that
On a computer that is plugged into the router, open a webpage and try accessing the Internet, please.
Did that webpage come up?
The only way I cann acess the internet is by having my local connection into a port on the router. I have a work computer that can connect to the wireless but my home computer which I installed the router cannot connect wirelessly
So just to be clear, you can access the internet when plugged into the router with a cable?
When you try and connect wirelessly, what happens?
Are you given errors?
