How do I reset my LinkSys router? it is Model WRT160N V3, SERIAL #CSE21J3G6683.
Welcome to JustAnswer..My name is XXXXX XXXXX X am a member of the expert community here.. do the followingWith the router powered on.. Turn the router around.. There is a small small hole.. Inside that hole is a reset button.. You will need something small like an unfolded paperclip, or, sometimes the tip of an inkpen will work. Press into the hole, and press the reset button inside the hole untill the routers lights flash at once for a second together, then go out.. Once this is done, unplug the router, then plug it back in ( power cord) The router will be reset.Then. to set a wireless passwordOn a computer connected to the linksys now.Click the link belowClick Me!!On the page that comes up, it will ask for a username and password.type in admin for the password, leave the username blankYou are inside the router..Click on wireless, then right under it click on wireless security.Where it says authentication, click it and change it to wpa2 pskWhere it says, PSK / Passphrase / Or Network key .. There is a text box to the rightIn that text box is where You will have to type in a new password, and click apply / save settings.Then.. The router will restart..You have now set your wireless password.
I successfully went wireless on the MacBook Pro, on both the Mac and PC sides (Boot Camp, split hard drive).
I cannot get my daughter's laptop onto the wireless router. Her computer works when I have the ethernet cable plugged in. I tried the name of my wireless network plus the security key that worked on my Mac and it is not working on her Dell laptop.
Any suggestions?
You did set the wireless password XXXXX yes? And its the new wireless password XXXXX entered on your daughters dell, and thats not working? What happens, or what does it say when you try to connect?
I got it solved with a driver from one computer to another, on my thumb drive.
Thanks,
John
