I am having problems Connecting my Vizio tv to my new Netgear

I am having problems Connecting my Vizio tv to my new Netgear router.

What is the model number of the netgear you are using to connec the tv

Customer :

WNDR3700

Customer :

TV Model # XXXXX

networkwiz :

you need to disable the mac filtering to do that follow the steps given


Go to routerlogin.com
login username: "admin" and password: "password"
click on the Wireless Settings under Advance
Click the wireless card access list button
Turn access control on must not be checked
this is to make sure Mac filtering is disabled



If thats not the issue, can you give me a clue about your network setup.
your XVT553SV tv to the WNDR3700, is it connected wired or wireless?

I would like to know the wireless setting you are using.

2.4ghz/54Mbps + 5ghz wireless mode and WPA, WPA2 encryption

It is wireless, i have tried both with and without encryption

The mac filtering was turned off already

My guess is the problem might be the firmware. If you can get your hands on .75 I would suggest that.

i am not able to update firmware manually on the TV, at least i have not found a way to.

The manual says it will auto update when then are released, thats all it says for it?

and router has latest firmware, i have checked several time

and what type of security you have on the router?

WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]

Does the TV show them as options. Do you get an option to enter the password

yes, it will show both a 2.4 and 5 channel i can select and enter passwords, but it will try to connect for about a minute then say "unable to connect"

even with out and encryption it would do the same thing

do you have any computer successfully connected to the router?

yes, i have a laptop, and several smart phones

all no problem connectiing

please try to change the security level with WPA or WPA2 instead of WPA+WPA2

then try to connect.

Customer :

WPA2 and WPA along with WEP do not work

Customer :

it will also not work with out security on my router

Customer :

but i can connect to a neighbors unsecured signal

my tv just does not like this new router??!!

just for a testing purpose

can you reset the tv to factory default
