I can fix the router to get connected to the laptop wifi but for roku i might try to get it conected if that is fine with you.

networkwiz :

is the netgear connected to the isp modem and is turned on

Customer :

Thats fine. I'm not at home where my equipment is but anything you can suggest would be helpful. I'm very frustrated. roku is supposed to be dual band.

networkwiz :

i have no much experience for roku you can try it your self however if the wifi router starts working then you can configure it your self.

Customer :

The router works great on 2.4 g If we can get it working on laptop i consider problem solved.

networkwiz :

Customer :

The laptop recognizes the 2.4 network and connects. When I try to commect to the 5G it will not connect. Error message says that security settings are not recognized.
