I just purchased a Kindle and my Linksys e1000 router will not let me connect with the internet. The kindle will not accept my router password.r.
Computer OS: Windows XP
I have called Amazon and they said it was a server problem. My server has no idea what the problem has to do with my server.
Hi, did you configure the E1000 using the setup CD?
Yes, but I have had the roouter for a long time.
I understand. Please try to re-run the setup procedure, but this time select the network encryption mode to be WEP. Then setup a 10 digit number as the network key (e.g. your phone number).J.
your insructions did not work, the response on the Kindle is "unable to connect to Wi-Fi Network
Local connection failed
Your Kindle unable to connect to the Wi-fi network"shortflamingo". would you like to enter the password XXXXX or manually set up this network" I tried both manual and enter password XXXXX no results.
Did you change the network mode to WEP?
I changed the security type to WEP. What is the network mode?
Same thing. And did you put in a new 10 digit key?
yes my telephone number
Disconnet the router from the wall power for 2 minutes, then reconnect and wait a minute. Then try to connect the kindle again, using the phone number as the password.
