Optional Information: Computer OS: Windows XPBrowser: IE Already Tried: I have downloaded the D90 version of the firmware but cannot open it.
Hello,Thank you for contacting Just Answer.First, I need more information in order to better assist you.Have you been able to confirm whether or not the drop off is wireless or the DSL connection?Do you use wireless?
It is the dsl connection since both the laptop running wireless and my desktop both lose communication and the dsl light just blinks.
My dsl just dropped out again. Had to reboot the modem.
Ok so next set the keepalive setting in the router to keep the connection active all the time then test to see if the DSL drops off.

The only answer I have received from you is as follows:
I am afraid I don't know where to go to set "keep the connection active all the time." Can you point me in the right direction?
Hello,Next do the following to configure the keepalive setting:First connect the computer directly to the modem with a network cable then reboot the computer then type 192.168.1.1 in the Internet Explorer address bar and press Enter. Then type in your username and password XXXXX your account with your ISP.After you login click Configuration, then Advanced WAN then WAN then in the window that appears click Edit next to the protocol that is enabled (most likely PPPoE) then in the window that appears, increase LCP echo failures to 12 and then click Ok then Ok again then test to determine if the dropoff issue is resolved.
When I go to 192.168.1.1, I get a verizon versalink wireless gateway screen which shows the following options: Main, Wireless Settings, My Network, Firewall Settings, Advanced, and System Monitoring. No submenu shows a "Configuration" option nor anything to do with WAN. Can I get to WAN configuration through Control Panel, Network connections or some other path?
Ok then next click My Network then Broadband connection then follow the rest of the instructions above.
