Hello Seelan, My name isXXXXX to Justanswer.

Could I ask you what your setup is like, and how/where you would like to connect.

Remote desktop would be the way to go, but basically you would just be setup as normal to the pc with the dvr EG: usb, s-video, and enable remote desktop on it,

Then from the remote location, connect to the home pc as if you was sat in front of it. and then control the pc from the remote location,

You would create a user account for this.

Richard.

Hello Seelan,

You can use your computers system for information in the local ip address and such.

Q, Do you have dhcp??? there too, because this is ( dynamic host configuration protocol ) this sets up all ip addressing, mac, dns, like your laptop, pc.

In other words automatic connection to the internet...

The mac address of the device, you get by choosing....

1, with unit in stop mode/ no disc, "press menu"

2, "press" up or down, to get to setup, then press "enter"

3, "press" up or down, to get to "network setup" press enter

4, "press" up or down, to get to "mac address" press enter.

the mac address appears now.

to get to all ip address and dns infomation,

Press on your pc,

start

run box

type cmd into run box press enter

type ipconfig /all

typing ipconfig all will give you all information regarding your computers ip addressing.

transfer all data except the mac address off the device.

Thanks

Richard
