Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.

Can you tell me the model number of your monitor?

Expert:  Byron replied 1 month ago.

The first thing I would suggest is removing the power cord from the back of the monitor for 60 seconds.

Then plug it back in and power it on. The monitor should have a set of button controls, one of which should allow

you to open a menu.

I can see you are a first time user to the site. What we do here is either a question and answer type of conversation or remote support where I would actually connect to the computer and have a look and attempt to fix the problem for you.

Remote support can save a lot of time if you are not comfortable performing repairs yourself. Sometimes even with instructions you can make a mistake and make things worse.

I will send an offer through for remote support and should you accept I will connect and see what is going on and fix the issue. Otherwise we can continue to talk like this but I will need to ask a number of other questions and try and walk you through some steps.

Both options are 100% guaranteed by the way. Remote is just quicker and avoids the risk of you making a mistake and doing something wrong.

If you want remote click get extra help. If not simply reply to me.

Thanks....Byron

I did unplug it and then plugged it back in. a menu did come up and then went away. usually the windows logo is on this screen, but not it is just black.

What version of Windows do you have on the computer?

Expert:  Byron replied 1 month ago.

Try this. Hold down the Windows logo key (just to the left of the spacebar) and press P.

While holding down the Windows key, press P until Extend is selected

and then release both keys.

The Extend option enlarges your desktop to both screens.

ok. i did that and a little box popped up showing the 2 screens. i hit ok, but the monitor screen is still black. this is so weird because i just pushed the buttons on the bottom of the screen and it went black. now i push them and nothing happens.

Thank you. Can you tell me the model number of the monitor? It should have a label on the back.

Can I connect to your machine and take a look?

Does 2572-MB6 make sense for the model number?
Expert:  Byron replied 1 month ago.

I'm not coming up with anything for that number.

Can I connect to your computer and take a look?

No - I work for Marriott and they don't allow anyone to connect except for Marriott support.

It says ThinkVision on the bottom left hand corner if that helps
Expert:  Byron replied 1 month ago.

Lenovo made dozens of models of Thinkvision monitors.

I understand about not being able to connect, but I have no idea what kind of computer you're using or version of Windows

and I don't know anything about the monitor except who made it.

Have you restarted the computer?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I logged off and back on, but have not restarted. I can try that.
Expert:  Byron replied 1 month ago.

Please do. You should have email from JustAnswer saying I responded.

Open one of those and click on the View Response box and it will return you to this page.
