OKay, so upon further review....this particular DVR does NOT have a Master reset without the Admin password.
But, I was told that you CAN call into WinBook Support, and you must have the serial number and the product receipt.
I know this poses a challenge on a 4 year old device......you probably dont have the receipt.
And no matter how honest you may seem, your story could be conjured up, and this unit is stolen.
Thats why this security measure exists......so that stolen units can NOT be used.
If you have the receipt......and the Serial number, then CALL winbook support, and explain your situation, they will help.
Otherwise.....unfortunately.....there is little that can be done......expect possibly CALL that former employee.....maybe i dont know.....pay for the password?
Or, you can SUE them......for the cost of the unit, as you will have to replace it without the admin password.
