Purchased a pair of speakers P/N880-000416 from BestBuy 2

Customer Question

Purchased a pair of speakers P/N880-000416 from BestBuy 2 weeks ago. Worked perfectly until this morning 8/12/16. No sound. Speaker icon in lower right has a big red x.. Advises peripheral does not appear to be plugged in. Check the connection.
Have checked all connections, no disconnects apparent. Is there any thing obvious that I should check? Am mystified.
