Bryan :

It's kind've hard to tell from the info you gave, can you just tell me the total number of hard drives currently in the machine and the size of the power supply?

Customer:

I don't know very much about computer specs. as far as I know that's all the information I know how to give. also I don't know how to tell what size the power supply is.

Bryan :

How did you get the info you sent?

Customer:

piriform speccy. professional edition software download. speccy is for specs.

Bryan :

Ok, so in speccy, open the disk drives section, then simply count how many drives there are.

Customer:

ok I can copy and paste is as best I can do with the specs thing. capacity 596 GB. 7200 rpm. 16 MB Cache.

Bryan :

Give me a sec

Customer:

ok.

Bryan :

Go to "Summary", look under "Hard Drives". How many drives are listed?

Customer:

Bryan :

Ok, you only have one hard drive. So you should be just fine without any extra cooling. And your power supply (unless it's ancient) will be plenty as well. Plus, you already have extra SATA connections open for the drive so no worries there either.

Customer:

thanks. does a 1 TB hard disk make the computer faster in any way more than a 596 GB capacity hard drive?

Bryan :

No. It will just give you more storage. Now if you want some recommendations to speed up the computer, I might be able to give you some ideas.

Customer:

ok you my recommend.

Bryan :

Go to the RAM section on Speccy and copy/paste it here.

Bryan :

Actually, you are good on RAM. go to CPU and just copy the first line to me. I don't need all the info, just the first line.

Customer:

AMD Athlon II X2 245

Bryan :

Ok. next the top section from Motherboard, above BIOS.

Customer:

Bryan :

Ok. Looks like you have the best CPU for that motherboard. About the only way to speedup the computer via hardware is to change out the motherboard. But if you'd like to try a software solution, I'd recommend running ADWCleaner.

Customer:

ok, all sounds good then. I just wanted to experiment safely with my computer with out messing up my computer, thank you.

Bryan :

Anytime. Take care. :)

Customer:

thanks.

Bryan :

Goog luck. And please don't forget to rate my service. :)
