Windows 7 backup and restore doesnt recognise external harddrive

Resolved Question:

Windows 7 backup and restore doesn't recognise external harddrive that I normally use and keeps saying on old harddrive I used before for backups isn't plugged in. Also My Computer shows the new external hardrive. Is there a solution?

Hi Chris. I just ran a backup to my new WD external hardrive two weeks ago and have many times before. I was trying to run a backup on it today. Now Windows 7 keeps saying in Backup and restore that an old WD external hardrive I used before o n my prior laptop isn't plugged in even though my new one is and is being recognise by My Computer devices
