i have a iomega mdhd500-ue external hard drive this was working

i have a iomega mdhd500-ue external hard drive this was working fine when i was on windows vista now i have switched to windows 7 home premium its not reconised
when i look at devices + printers its shown as a external hard drive but when i go to computer its not reconised i have been in computer management to see if it will let me assign a letter but it won,t

Get a USB disk enclosure ($20 at any local computer store), take the drive out of the current box it is in (there is a regular computer hard drive inside the box you see) and put it in the USB enclosure. Then connect it to a working computer, and you will have access to all the files on the disk.

The new box you get can be of any brand.
