How do you change the battery in the Logitech Travel Mouse?
Already Tried: Prying gently on various pieces of plastic.
Hello and Welcome to Just answer. My name is XXXX X will be assisting you today
Sir Can you please specify the full model of the mouse?
You can find the correct model on the bottom of the mouse
It doesn't have any numbers on it.
did you check on the bottom of the mouse ?
yes. I did. All it says is "Logitech" and "laser".
one moment please
Is there a on/off switch on the mouse?
yes. on the bottom.
please try the following1.Turn the mouse over. There are two switches: "On/Off" and "Connect." Slide the on/off switch to the left, or "off" position.
Which piece of plastic slides off? the front (where the wheel is) or the back?
The back
must be on very tight, cause I can't get it to slid back.
It isn't tight usually.if we have the model i can get a picture of how to do itplease click on this link http://www.mousearena.com/logitech-travel-mouse-battery-replacement/ this is for a different model please try this too and let me know
my mouse must be an earlier model, because it doesn't look like that.
OK let me check for another one in the mean time please check around the mouse and try to find the model or part number
I should tell you that I got this mouse as a christmas present 2 years ago.
I pulled out the USB port and looked on the bottom of it and there is a very, very tiny white writing that I think says L2743AM. But it is so small I can't be sure.
OK i will check that in the mean time please. Here is another model http://www.logitech.com/assets/33791/cordless-laser-mouse-v470-gsw.pdf
No. the bottom of my mouse is just one piece.
Except for the USB port, which pulls out of the back bottom of the mouse.
Is this logitech bundle pack which means it has both mouse and keyboard in box?
No. it was just the travel mouse.
Here is a list of mouses from logitech please check it and see if you can identify the correct one http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/mice
I think the M505 is the closest to my mouse.
Let me check it
Please try this http://www.logitech.com/repository/1400/pdf/24515.1.0.pdf
I think my mouse is a little bit earlier version of this mouse. Some of the things shown in the diagrams are not on my mouse (like the battery door release).
did you get a disc with this mouse?
probably. but who knows where it is now. But I just had a breakthrough! The back half of the top of the mouse just fell off exposing the batteries.
So problem solved, sort of. (I'm not sure what I did).
Glad to know that so the first suggestion was the correct one
Yes. but there must have been something else too. But don't worry, I'm not going to stiff you.
Its ok.
Replace the battery and see if you can put back the battery cover
Batteries replaced (there were 2 AAs) and cover replaced.
OK see if the mouse is working and let me know
My computer is booting (takes a while).
No problem make sure the usb receiver is plugged in
Works like a charm! I guess we're done here. How do we wrap this up?
Glad to know that its working.
