I have Windows 7, in Excel I can see my files and folders but.........I can't open them up, ERROR says they have been moved. Can't be moved I'm the only person to get on the computer. Please help me
Already Tried: I ran Malware twice
Hi there and welcomeAre you trying to open these from within the Recent Files in Excel?Or how are you viewing and opening the files?
When I open Excel I can see "Recent Files" but they won't open
Thanks,It means they have changed location, though they are most likely still on the computer.First, on your desktop, double click the Recycle Bin. Look for the files there. If you find them, right click on them and select Restore. They will then be returned to their original location. If you do not see them, then you will need to search for them.Click start, type in the name of one of the files in the search box and let Windows search for it.When it locates the file, you can either double click it to open it from there, or you can drag it to a more suitable location. If you encounter any difficulties, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Okay, I tried what you said, to restore files however when I right click there is no option of restore, now what?
Already Tried: Okay RichieMe I tried what you said and there is no option of restore, now what?
To clarify, you found the files in the recycle bin?
Hi, well do you have any suggestions about how to retrieve my files from Excel?? Or do I say "Oh Well" and recreate my TAX information again?
I do, but need information as requestedWhen you say you saw no restore option, was this in the RECYCLE BIN?
Doesn't matter, I saw your duplicate question that they are not in the Trash CanCan you click start and in the search box type in the name of the EXCEL file. Then wait for windows to find it.When found, click on it and it should then openIf you still have the problem, please let me know.

Richie, you have NOT solved my Excel problem and neither has JohnC
Can you not view all of the answers on JustAnswer? I have tried EVERYTHING that you suggested. And as far as my TRASHCAN this gets emptied daily by McAfee (which runs 24/7)
Now, I see my files on Excel, I see Recent files (this is how I have my computer programs) I cannot open them!
Did That on my own, doesn't work
ok I see you rated my service as poor...Did you do the search steps I told you to do?If you do not see them, then you will need to search for them.Click start, type in the name of one of the files in the search box and let Windows search for it.When it locates the file, you can either double click it to open it from there, or you can drag it to a more suitable location.and remember please to not rate my service as poor as I am only trying to help you find files that may or may not be recoverable.
ok, I see that no matter what you will rate my service as poor.I am not sure if you are following my instructions, but I hope so.Regardless I will be opting out
By the advice of RichieMe I have tried doing Malware, clicking on most recent files, file name search, asking the SAME QUESTION different ways, asked for a new Tech. At this point they will NOT get a bonus from me. It shows on my account that the answer has been answered HOWEVER IT HAS NOT BEEN ANSWERED FROM THESE SO CALLED EXPERTS IN THEIR FIELD.
