I have a Hermle Astrolabium I got 25 years ago. I think the battery case is bad. I can get it to tick when I hold the battery in place a certain way. I think there is either a loose wire from the case to the mechanism or the tines holding the battery have lost tension and do not make a good connection. Advice?

Hi, My name is ***** ***** it is my pleasure to assist you. First off these are very cool clocks I have worked and set up several in my shop. First make sure the battery contacts are clean and free of any dirt or corrosion next by using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol then you can use an emery board and sand the contact lightly next you can pry each side of the contacts out very gently to get a better contact. If that doesn't help you will need to replace the movement because they do not sell just the battery compartment or I can locate a clock repair company in your area just let me know your zip code location and by what major cities and I'll find a few in your area.
