Customer Question

I just purchased a Ridgeway Grandfather Clock 96104369 that was just delivered... the pendulem seems not to be balanced leans slightly to the rear on the right side... touching the chime apparatus behind it... What would you suggest to do first.. I am familiar with a Howard Miller clock I have, and it looks similar ... but has 3 holes on the face it seems to wind with a wind handle on the floor of the clock inside. I don't wish to make a mistake and do something wrong, should I have been provided with an instruction sheet... I don't have one ... where should I get one... Thanks for any help you can provide. /s/ Carol XXXXXX XXX-XXX-XXXXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX Sarasota, FL

Step one is to level the piece, front and back then side to side.....then we move onwards!

I will try to level it and see if that will make it balanced, but I still need to know about the 3 holes in the face ... is that where the winding mechanism goes and winds ... What are they each for and do you wind all of them ... Let me know.... Also how to turn the chimes on and off my other one has a string that you pull when you want the chimes off.... I didn't feel any string... Can I get a owner's sheet with instructions. Thanks /s/ Carol XXX-XXX-XXXX

Hi Carol, My name is XXXXX XXXXX it is my pleasure to assist you. Yes the clock must be level both ways. The 3 holes are for winding and yes you wind all 3 but wind them until you feel a little resistance do not overwind. The hole on the RIGHT as you face the clock is for the chimes, The CENTER hole is for the pendulum, The LEFT is for the strike. As for the chimes There is a lever on the dial to manually turn off the chimes at will. Your hands never touch the brass on this design. There is an additional lever on the left of the dial to select an option for the chime to play continuously or to cease between 10:00PM and 7:00AM. If you need to aquire the manual for your clock the information for that I listed below just give them the model & serial number off your clock. Thanks Mike
