Sorry for the long wait. I dont know if you can see where the other expert has opted out of your question. Does it show that anywhere?

Anyway, did you get this running or do ya still need help.

Let me know and i will gat back to you as soon as i can. If you do still need help and can add anymore info that would be great.

Hi, sorry for the delay.

Are you sure the points are set correctly?

Do you know what a dwell meter is?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I dont have much experience setting points so im not 100% i set them right. I have a dweel meter but ive never used it
Expert:  Virtual Wrench replied 1 month ago.

Make sure the dwell meter is set on 4 cylinder scale.

connect the red lead to the wire that goes to the distributor.

connect the other wire on the meter to any good ground.

then crank the starter and take the reading.

you want to see 52 degrees of dwell.

take your time and get back whenever.

I hooked up the dwell meter and it showed nothing
Expert:  Virtual Wrench replied 1 month ago.

double check the points setting. they appear not to be opening, or not closing. see video below

I got it started but still havent figured out the problem. I was mesing with the points and my help left so i had no one to jump in the cab to turn it over so i hooked a jumper button up to the starter and got spark and got it started. when i disconnected the the jumper button it will still run but will not start with the key only the jumper button.
