good morning my name is ***** ***** I will assist

I remove the rag joint at the steering box and remove the entire assembly. then once it is out and on the ground, you can do your change over. due to the age it may be difficult to get all apart easily in the truck.

the steering column and the itermediat shaft are on my work bench

ok, thats new information you never said.

the grease in the shaft is probably very hard from over the years. I would spray it down real good with wd 40 and let it sit to see if it softens it up enough to separate.
