1972 volvo 1800: slow so I probably need to replace two capacitors

Customer Question

i have a 1972 Volvo P1800E with a VDO clock. It is slow so I probably need to replace two capacitors inside. How do I open it? I can remove the two small nuts but then? How do I get the cover off? I do not want to use force.

Hi, I would be glad to assist you today. After doing some research I believe I can help you with this. Under one of the nuts you will find a factory warranty seal, you will have to nip at this seal with a pair of small diagonal cutters. Here are a few documents you may find useful.
