I have a 32 roadster with a chevy 350 engineengine code 16K43831casting code(NNN) NNN-NNNNCan you tell me about it?Tom
Country: United StatesMake: 31 roadsterEngine: chevy 350 c.i. Already Tried: sourced codes on engine
All I can tell you is that it is a 1976 chevy 350 engine assembled at St. Catherines, Ontario. I need the suffix code to tell you more. The suffix code is the three letters at the end on the engine id pad on passenger side just below the head.

There are three identifiers to properly identify the engine.
Here are the locations:
The suffix code is the most important.
Experience: Master Auto tech since 1972,I own a 65 mustang and have built a 57 ford race car from the bottom up
The numbers you gave me are the partial vin and casting number. I was wrong about it being assembled in Canada. It was assembled in Kansas City.
Example
Here's how the partial VIN breaks down:12K123456first number is XXXXX carline, which is 1 for Chevrolet, 2 for Pontiac,C for Chevy truck, T for GMC truck. Second number or letter is the year, it will be the last digit of the year on1960s and 70s cars, and a letter starting in 1980. A = 1980, B = 1981, C = 1982,etc. Third letter or number is XXXXX vehicle assembly plant, in this case K for Kansas City.
The suffix code will give the most informative information such as horsepower and what vehicle it was originally intended to go in.
The casting number is XXXXX as:
3970010....302.....69....4...Z-28 Camaro(NNN) NNN-NNNN...327.....69....2...Trucks and industrial(NNN) NNN-NNNN...350...69-80...2 or 4
If you give me the suffix code I can give you more detailed information about your engine. Let me know if you need more help. I strive for satisfaction and try to go above and beyond to please my customers. If you need more help, let me know.
