My 03 pt cruiser stalled at a red light. No problems prior.

Customer Question

My 03 pt cruiser stalled at a red light. No problems prior. New battery, plugs, wires. All checked out and fine. Now it won't spark. We did a compression check and found oil in plug #1. Any ideas?
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: Traffic light. Turned green and car stalled.
JA: Are you fixing your PT Cruiser yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No check engine light prior to this, no overheating. All seemed fine.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No.

Hello, what were the results of the compression test?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.

No compression. My brother did the test. He may have just stopped when he saw the oil.

Usually the oil comes fro mthe spark plug tube seals in the valve cover leaking. I'd spin it over a few times with no plugs in it and test. If there's nothing or it's very low across all cylinders the timing belt is likely popped.
