My 2003 pt sun roof open by itself

Customer Question

my 2003 pt sun roof open by itself

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site, There are one of two possible things that can cause this. The switch itself is shorted out but normally if this happens you will be able to close the roof most of the time. So I would replace the switch if this doesnt fix the problem the only other thing could be the sunroof module which this is a bit of work to get at but have seem them cause this it runs the sunroof only so if there is a internal short than it will make your sunroof open by itself.

is there a way to disconnect the sun roof like a fuse

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You don't want to remove fuse 14 because you'll also lose the radio, overhead console and interior lights.

The only way you're going to be able to disable the sunroof and not affect anything else would be to either unplug the sunroof module itself or the sunroof motor.
