2006 Chrysler turbo pt cruiser. 96000 miles. Multi misfire.

Customer Question

2006 Chrysler turbo pt cruiser.
96000 miles.
Multi misfire. Engine head and top end refinished 2 days ago.
It runs great until you are going over 60mph and then floor it. Then it starts jerking and engine light comes on and off.
If I drive it just regular and ease to 60 or 80mph, it's fine?
Does not have a stalling issue.

Does it act like there is a rpm limiter such as not wanting to go over 4000 rpm? Thanks.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
it wants to haul ass, but if I floor it and it hits the higher rpms, then it starts the jerking and engine light blinking until I let my foot off abit, then it is fine and light goes off and then it drives normal

If it acts like it hits a rpm limiter that is a common symptom of a clogged catalytic converter. You can completely remove front oxygen sensor from exhaust to relieve exhaust pressure. If it runs better with oxygen sensor removed you know the converter is clogged. Let me know if you have more questions or if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks.

Not clogged. Engine just rebuilt for this issue. Passed all test.
Issue still as I stated.

How do you know it isn't' clogged? This symptom pretty much always means a clogged converter if it will not go over 4000 rpm.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
I can hit red line if I ease into it. This only happens when I floor it

The only other thing that comes to mind is a weak ignition coil but I'd still recommend removing oxygen sensor to see if it helps. If not, check to see if each coil jumps a 25kv gap.

It goes over 4000rpm. I just can't floor and take it over that ramp instantly with ease.
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It's like there is a limiter if you floor it
