I have a 2005 Chrysler 300, rear wheel drive with the 3.5 V6

Customer Question

Good Morning,
I have a 2005 Chrysler 300, rear wheel drive with the 3.5 V6 and 41000 actual miles. I bought this car new in 2005. This car does not get driven every day. Here of recent when first starting on a cold engine after setting for a couple days the engine will rev up to 3000+ rpms for a couple seconds and then drops back to around 600 rpms. I have cleaned around on the inside of the throttle body and plate, but to no avail. Please help, I don't have the money to replace an engine.
Thanking you in advance.

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. remove the IAC and clean it out with brake parts cleaner extremely well. reinstall. you should be good to go. if not then spray around the engine with carb cleaner and listen for rpm change to find the air leak.

David,
Where exactly is the IAC located on a 2005 chrysler 3.5 v6? I have a repair manual and no where does it reference an IAC. It list every other sensor and control but not an IAC.
