I have a 2003 pt cruiser with a manual transmission only

Customer Question

I have a 2003 pt cruiser with a manual transmission only when I shut it off it will puke or drip oil at or near the rear of the motor around the rear main seal. Are there any problems with oil galley plugs or rear main problems it does not leak while it running only when you turn the ignition off

If the rear main seal is leaking, then with the engine running the fly wheel will keep the oil circulating inside the bell housing. It is only when you turn the engine off that the oil can stop spinning around inside the bell housing and run out.

There are no other source for oil to leak out of the bell housing.
