Key will not turn in ignition. steering wheel is locked..

key will not turn in ignition.
JA: Can you turn the steering wheel at all? And what about the key? Is it worn or damaged?
Customer: steering wheel is locked.. will not unlock. key is not damaged yet
JA: What is the model/year of your Chrysler?
Customer: 2005crossfire with 33k and manual 6 speed
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: tried to lubricate the key hole. wiggles and tried to turn steering wheeel, tapped on back of key and prayed
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

Let try master reset, first hopefully it will reset the modules and release the key.

if that dont work ,we will need a Chrysler scanner or equivalent to retrieve fault codes.

as long your key is good and not wore out, at the mileage i doubt the key is the issue .

Master reset Procedure

1- Disconnect Battery Cables ( Negative & Positive Cables )

2- Hold cables Together for 60 secs ,then let go

3- Wait 15 minutes

4- Make sure all doors are closed

5- Reconnect battery Cables

6- Lock & unlock the vehicles using the key from driver door side (if you have a key fob with no blade key, just lock & unlock using the key fob buttons)

7- Enter the vehicle and attempt to start
