I have a Pontiac G6 2008 model. I've replaced the gas cap 3

Customer Question

I have a Pontiac G6 2008 model. I've replaced the gas cap 3 times and the engine lite comes back on every time.
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: Starts up just fine. But it has started using gas
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just the changing the gas cap
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: It says I have a evaporation emission leak

Hello, my name is***** usually means fuel cap, vent solenoid, or purge solenoid in that order. If replacing gas cap didn't help I'd recommend replacing the vent solenoid. If that doesn't help then I'd pay a shop to do a smoke test which will find the leak. Let me know if you have more questions or if there is anything else I can do to help. Thanks.
