Can not remove the key from ignition
JA: Is the key stripped or worn?
Customer: I do not know , it will turn off and on just fine ,but can not remove the key.
JA: What is the model/year of your Chrysler?
Customer: 2005 Crossfire
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes, we are trying to take the shifter console apart to access the shifter interlock switch.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: has 67000 miles, it is the only key we have for the car.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If you're unable to remove the key then odds are you have a shifter interlock issue. If it doesn't see the trans is in park then the key won't turn to the lock position. The issue may be with the interlock, the shifter, or the trans may not actually be going fully into park.

Did you find anything once you were able to access the shifter?
