Chrysler Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
You most likely have a bad shift interlock solenoid. It is a pretty common problem. You can manually get the shift lever out of park by manually pulling on the plastic tab. You need to remove the trim ring and you should be able to get a screwdriver in there to manually release the shifter.
You could also have a problem with the brake switch. Verify you have brake lights working when pushing on the pedal with the key on.
