Chrysler Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Does your car have a towbar?
I would take out the brake light bulbs out, and see if the fuse still blows.
You could have a faulty bulb.
I can't find a common problem like yours, but I have seen intermittent bulb faults, and shiftlock solenoids.
Can you check the "fit" of the fuse in the fusebox, and whether the fuse itself gets warm after sitting with your foot on the brake?
Keep your foot on the brake and move the shifter in and out of park.
Can you tell me the fuse value, and do you have a digital voltmeter to measure current?
Your car has two LED taillights, a CHMSL (centre high mount stop lamp), and a shift lock solenoid.
With the 10 amp in the engine bay, I'm out of info as to what is your problem.
I'll opt out, another tech will be along shortly.
No need to respond as it will bounce the question back to me.
All the best Rick.
Is your 200 a v6 or 4 cylinder?
Did you ever have the engine wiring harness recall ever done on your 200?
The wiring for the engine and brakes systems under the hood is under a recall. Take your vehicle in to Chrysler and it will be replaced without charge and should handle your problem.
No its about 6 months old but its real. did you put your vin number into the recall site?
You are very welcome!
