Chrysler Town & Country: i have an Oil Change light that

Customer Question

i have an Oil Change light that keeps coming on. I drive a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country that has 51,000 miles on it.
Dealer said it needs diagnostics for 100.00 plus. And says it usually means the oil pressure sensor is the usual culprit.
Sound right to you?? And what should the fee for Oil Sensor light be?

Hello and thank you for your question,If its the oil pressure light then yes it sounds right, the usual suspect is a failing oil pressure sending unit. They will usually remove it and install a Manuel gauge to verify the actual oil pressure is okay and then replace the oil pressure senor. If the sensor is actual bad the part cost would be right at $39.00

no sir, it is only the oil change light that is showing.

Okay then it dose not sound right, if the oil pressure sensor was the problem, it would be the oil pressure light being on.

The maintenance light for an oil change is not the same circuit and has nothing to do with the oil pressure sensor.

so i just kept seeing that i needed an oil change. took it for the oil change and he wants to run diagnositics which he charges 110.00 for. he said this is not an oil change reminder. he said this is most likely the oil pressure sensor.

Okay if hes right then it would be the oil pressure light and that is usually a bad oil pressure sensor. Your saying its the maintenance light. Which is it as far as you know?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
just the routine "oil change" due message.

Okay then that light can be reset after you change the oil. See the steps to do so in the link below, copy and paste the link to your browser to open and view it.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/104923897/Oil%20change%20reset%20Apr%2025.pdf
