Customer Question

2008 Chrysler Town & Country, Brakes -rotors and pads replaced 4 times. due to overheating. Pressure isn't being released after applying brake pedal or ABS systems.
What causing this problem with the brakes???
My understanding that Ford, Honda Toyota had a similar problem in the past.

Hello and thank you for your question today!
Normally this condition is caused by one of 3 things.
First, if the master is over filled, as the fluid warms up it will apply the brakes when going down the road. This can eventually cause them to lock on completely.
Second, if the brake light switch is over adjusted it will cause the same problem. It will apply the brakes and as the fluid gets hotter and hotter it just keeps locking them on.
Finally, a bad master cylinder can do this exact same thing.
Check these and see which is the culprit. If the fluid isn't to full and the brake switch is not applying any pressure, replace the master to resolve the problem.
