Thank you for using Just Answer.I will do my best to answer your question.REMOVAL
AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR/GENERATOR BELT
Raise vehicle on hoist.
Remove right front wheel and belt splash shield.
Loosen tensioner locking bolt and pivot bolt.
Rotate tensioner clockwise to allow enough slack to remove belt. POWER STEERING PUMP BELT
Raise vehicle on hoist.
Remove right front wheel and belt splash shield.
Remove the air conditioning compressor/generator belt.
Loosen belt adjusting bolt. It is not necessary to loosen the pivot bolt on the power steering pump. There is a bushing incorporated into the power steering pump/bracket that allows it to pivot.
Remove power steering belt.

Install belt splash shield and right front wheel.
Lower vehicle. POWER STEERING PUMP BELT
Install power steering belt on pulleys.
Insert a 1/2" drive breaker bar into the square opening on the power steering pump bracket.
Hold clockwise pressure on power steering pump bracket and tighten adjusting bolt.

Wrong diagram; my a/c is on the other side; 2001 2.7L convertible
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I mean bottom front; hubby says he sees the bolt; so he just loosens it and adjust belt that way then tighten it? End of pulley does not show a nut it's got like a smooth plastic cover
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The bolt is actually next to the idler pulley??
Expert:  SuperDave replied 1 year ago.
It should look like this:

The bolt goes through the center back of the idler pulley.

THANKS the a/c (compressor)has a free spinning pulley could that have caused belt to break?
Expert:  SuperDave replied 1 year ago.
No, that is normal. The pulley spins easy because the a/c clutch is not engaged.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
its not spinning; must be locked up and what caused belt to break. crap
Expert:  SuperDave replied 1 year ago.
Yes that would cause it to break. It sounds like the a/c compressor locked up.
