Customer Question

2001 Chrysler T&C LXI climate control: w/ climate control power switch off, blows on high thru defrost; when on, first blows cold air which goes to very warm within a few minutes (both sides) regardless of temp setting - changing the control panel temp or blower speed doesn't change anything, but turning the recirulation on then off kicks the blower to low (thankfully)... direction control works ok... did the "power/recir together" thing - no change...

Matt Hardy :

Hello and welcome to Just Answer, my name is Matt.

Matt Hardy :

Your vehicle is equipped with the dual zone A/C, with a digital-display control panel...correct?

Matt Hardy :

The blower issue is easy to fix.

Matt Hardy :

The blower speed control module, AKA "blower resistor" has failed. When this part fails, the blower defaults to high speed, even with the climate control turned OFF.

Matt Hardy :

I have seen this problem dozens of times on T&C and a new blower speed control module has reapired the problem for me every time.

Matt Hardy :

I posted a pic showing the location of the part. The glove box must be removed to access.

Matt Hardy :

I would replace the blower control module and then retest. It is possible that you have more than one problem.

Customer :

fixed the problem - took 5 min...
