Scott :

Hello, My name is XXXXX XXX I will gladly assist you with your vehicle concern.

Scott :

I have never done it without the tool, and really do not recommend it. {see link}

Scott :

As you can see the tool has a "pin" in the cup to open/bleed the tensioner, and using it also helps re prime it.

Scott :

Now, here is the method for installing the collapsed Tensioner. If your unit is collapsed out of the box, then follow the directions below.

Scott :

IMPORTANT!!!! YOU NEED TO APPLY PRESSURE TO THE TENSIONER TO ACTUATE IT, IT NEEDS TO BE PUSHED IN TO RELEASE THE LOCK SO IT CAN COME OUT AND TENSION. I USUALLY USE A SCREWDRIVER AND APPLY PRESSURE TO THE GUIDE, THE TENSIONER RIDES ON

Scott :

Hello, Just checking to see if you have any success with the tensioner?
