Hello, My Friend!
Took your suggestion and called Ace Uphostery, Mechanicsville, Md. I was advised that re-securing the fabric of the top with the base of the window, with a urethane adhesive, is not their repair technique. They mentioned the repair requires heat-sealing (or something like that). And that the estimated cost is $626.00.
What do you think? Must I purchase a new top (which is very expensive)? Is this process more practical?
Well the heat sealing repair at $626.00 is probably cheaper than purchasing a new top and having it installed, so as long as they can guarantee their repair, then I say go for it.
