I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Sedan and codes P0491 and P0491pd keep coming up. I have a list of OBD codes, and know it says "Secondary Air Injection System Insufficient Flow". What does this mean and how to fix?
Optional Information: Year: 2005 Model: Sebring Sedan Engine: 2.4L, 4 cyl, double overhead cam Already Tried: Replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor. Cleared codes several times, keep coming back. Also get a P0491 pd code?
HI,Most times, this is due to a faulty A.I.R. pump itself, located at left front lower engine compartment:I would check it for broken wiring at the harness to it, as well as broken vacuum lines and repair as needed. If ok, pump is likely bad, but can only be verified by testing with a scan tool. Please note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment. Can you tell me what part to ask for, and would this make my car run a little rough?
Hi,Ok, the part is called A.I.R. Pump. As this does affect the air volume getting to the mass airflow sensor, and then to engine, this can cause some driveability symptoms such as rough running, and even hesitation in engine at timesPlease note, your Deposit doesn't constitute a payment.
