01 chrysler voyager won't turn over
Hello and welcome to Just Answer. My name is Denny; now let me see if I can help you with your Chrysler question.
You need to check for 12v at the little wire on the starter to see if we are getting 12v there, when someone turns the key to start. Let me know
there is no power on the little wire I crossed the starter and it turned over but still didn't run.
I could really use some help
Hello and Welcome to JustAnswer, My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will be assisting you..New Expert Here!!I see that your starter won't engage, here is a wiring diagram of the starting system:Do you have a Ohm-Meter or test light? I will walk you thru some steps to see what's wrong..Thanks,
Brad
I also don't think the pump is kickin in when I turn the key
Do you have a Test Light or Ohm-Meter?
no test light sorry!
Can you get one easily? As I will want you to remove the Starter Relay and check the voltages in it to see what is the issue...
I have a power probe at work but I'll have to wait till my wife gets home with the other car to get it.
Understand that I'm here to help you repair your vehicle, and this is one of the cases where a test light or Power Probe is needed to verify voltages to better see what is happeneing... Also I see where you re-listed this question, and that is why I started assisting you... But the previous expert would like to help you.. I will let me him finish assisting you..Have a greatday!!!Brad
ok how can i talk to him?
Relist: Other.ok
So you have to check the #9 40a fuse in the under hood fuse box next; then let me know when you get a test light.
I have a power probe now!
Did you check the fuse above?
Did you try replacing the starter relay?
all fuses and relays are good
Relist: is there anything besides the ignition switch that can cut power to both the starter and the fuel pump ?.
Hi,I'm back to help you get this repairedOk, I need you to remove the starter relay and test pin 30 for 12v and then test pins 85 and 86.. On of them will have 12v and the other should be ground..Also if you like, you can jump out 30 and 87 just to verify the starter works...Let me know what you find and we can continue. Thanks,
I jumped out the starter relay and it seems to work properly but still won't start that way . The fuel pump is still not working
I understand.. The key will need to be in the start position in order for it to start and run.. Can you please test the pins 85 and 86.. WIth the key in start position one should have 12v and the other have ground.. When you find which one isn't there I can better see what's going on..Thanks,Brad
0.4 11.9 0.0 11.9 -0.486 30 87 87a 85
If I'm reading your reply correctly Pin 86-.04, Pin 30-11.9, Pin 87-0.0, Pin 87a 11.9, Pin 85-.04... If so, did you test 85 and 86 with key on? I need you to measure the voltage of them with key in "Start" Position.. And to test for ground place one lead on the positive side of battery and the other lead to 85 and 86... Whichever has 12v has good ground...Thanks,Brad
in doing that I am not getting any readings on the probe, but if I connect the neg. side to the battery along with the pos. side, I get a 0.4 on 86 and 85 when touching the probe to each lead.
I'm sorry I forgot you was using a Power Probe, I thought you had a test light.. My Mistake.. Does it have a green and red led light for a Ground reading and Positive reading? Either way one should have 12v which it doesn't.. It sounds like your FCM(Front Control Module) is faulty.. In order to verify this you will need a scantool..
It will take me a while to get a scan tool but until then, could you tell me where the FCM is locatedIs it the grey box under the steering colume to the left, where the ignition switch wires run into. shaped like a rectangle with a 10mm bolt in the center holding it together?
It's mounted on the front of the Fuse block underhood.. It's silver and held on with 4 screws....
o.k thats much easier to find . I don't completely understand how to pay for all of this help. it keeps telling me to press an accept button but their is'nt one!
If you don't see a "Accept" Button I will forward it to Customer Service for you.. There has been some issues with the button..If you need anything else, feel free askThanks,Brad
