Hello and Welcome to JustAnswer, My name is Brad and I will be assisting you.. Have you had the system checked for codes?
Can you do this for me:
Start with the ignition off. Within five seconds, switch the key on, off, on, off, on. (On is *not* start!) The "check engine" light will flash. Count the flashes Each code is a two digit code, so a (for example) 23 would be FLASH FLASH (pause) FLASH FLASH FLASH (loong pause) It will never flash more than 9 times, watch for pauses!
Or P- codes will flash in dash
engine light didn't flash, no p codes
that is correct
Ok just a sec
What engine do you have?
ok thank you
Does it run fine, besides the light being on?
no, loses power, having to stop, place in park, resets, "fix" lasts short term.
Ok, you need to have the codes retrieved first.. Auto zone, Advanced auto, etc usually will scan your vehicle for free... When you get the codes I can walk you thru the diagnostics... It could be a faulty Throttle body, wiring, or a software update that is needed....
I need to know what the computer is saying is wrong so I can assist you in fixing it
Use my problem to request a recall from Chrylser. I am not the only one with this problem, Chrylser needs to made this right.
