2006 Chrysler Town and Country, replaced alternator, replaced

Resolved Question:

2006 Chrysler Town and Country, replaced alternator, replaced starter, new battery. I hear a click from the starter piston but it won't engage pinion gear. I use my volt meter to check for power and it seems fine 12.6VDC. I tried starting it with a insulated screwdriver directly to starter and same response. Please Help.

ricardo hohl :

hi, there seems to be a bad conection with the positive side of the battery check the conector at the starter and the battery terminal, it may show 12.6 volts but low amperage do to bad conection .

ricardo hohl :

hi resistance on the battery cables will cause low flow of amperage to the starter.

ricardo hohl :

just make sure your conections are tight on both cables and starter.

Customer:

Connections are tight I was getting about 180 Ohms resistance

ricardo hohl :

180 ohms on what the cable ?

Customer:

I will try bypassing the harness for the B+ and going straight to the starter

Customer:

between + and - at battery end ofcourse no battery in line

ricardo hohl :

ok, let me know

ricardo hohl :

180 ohms is to hi it calls for less then 1 ohm
